The Woman behind Jeopardy
Hey Guys!
I’m sure you all know that your favorite quiz show, Jeopardy has become the longest running game show in the history of television.
The show is very popular among the viewers because of its unique answer-and-question format. This unique concept ensures that the viewers remain glued to their television sets watching Jeopardy Episodes week after week.
But guys have you ever thought as to how this unique idea came about and how was it executed.
It is well known that the mastermind behind the Jeopardy show is Merv Griffin. He put in his best efforts in the creation of this show, and the result is in front of us.
Those of you, who are still not aware of this game show, can watch Jeopardy episodes online from this site with very good picture and sound quality.
Griffin, who is not among us any more (he died on August 12th 2007), said that the idea to start Jeopardy struck his mind when he was flying with his wife, from Duluth in Minnesota to New York.
Griffin said, “I was mulling over game show ideas, when she noted that there had not been a successful “question and answer” game on the air since the quiz show scandals. Why not do a switch, and give the answers to the contestant and let them come up with the question?”
Yes friends, it was Griffin’s wife who came up with the idea of this successful format that impelled us to watch Jeopardy online.
Griffin said that his wife also suggested him some answers and asked him to guess the questions. It was then that he approached the NBC network with the idea. Fortunately, they accepted it and asked him for a pilot episode. The rest they say is history.
